Suzanne H. Jacoby is the Manager for Education and Public Outreach for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope where she leads the EPO efforts for LSST, assists the LSST Project Manager with project-wide coordination, communication and reporting tasks, and serves as Public Information Officer. Her formal education includes a B.S. in Physics, M.S. in Astronomy, and M.Ed. in Science Education from the University of Arizona's Teach for Tucson Program where she earned her AZ teaching certification (secondary science, Physics endorsement). Her professional experience includes more than 20 years at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory where she worked as a research assistant, a scientific programmer in the IRAF group, and Education Officer of the NOAO Educational Outreach group which she founded. She was the first director of Project ASTRO-Tucson and served as PI on two NSF-funded Teacher Enhancement Programs: Research Based Science Education and Teacher Leaders in Research Based Science Education, which promoted the use of authentic astronomical data from Kitt Peak National Observatory in classroom research projects.
